Breaking News: PG student died after falling from roof in RIMS Ranchi
Latest Updated 03/11/2023: The half-burnt body of a PG medical student was found on Thursday from the campus of hostel number five of RIMS. He has been identified as Dr Madan Kumar M. He was a second year student of FMT (Forensic Medicine and Toxicology) at RIMS.
Dr. Madan, originally from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, was currently living in room number 79 in hostel number five of RIMS. In the initial investigation of the police, footprints of someone have been found from the terrace of the hostel.
The marks found by the police were present till the boundary wall of the hostel roof. Petroleum products were found spread at many places on the roof. In the case of student's death, police have started investigation on the point of murder and suicide. The police has also informed the student's family about the incident.
It is feared that inflammable substance was first poured on Dr. Madan and then to save his life, he ran and jumped from the fourth floor of the hostel, due to which he died.
After getting information about the matter, apart from senior police officers, people from RIMS management reached the spot. Police have kept the body in RIMS for post-mortem. Later the FSL team reached the spot. Photography and videography of the roof was done by the police. The FSL team took with them photographs of the traces of petroleum and footprints spread on the roof of the hostel for investigation.
