Latest Updated 17/11/2023: When employed teachers become state employees, their district cadre posts will become transferable. Generally, these teachers can be transferred within the district by the District Education Officer keeping in mind the commitments under the Right to Education Act, student-teacher ratio or public interest. At the same time, on the request of teachers, the Director Primary or Director Secondary can also be transferred outside the district. A teacher will be able to exercise such option only twice during his service period. It is known that rules were made in the year 2020 also regarding transfer of employed teachers. Software was also made for transfer, but it could not reach the end. Now these teachers will get the facility of transfer only as per the rules of 2023.


About four lakh employed teachers of the state are expected to get the status of state employees soon. The education department has finalized the rules for this. On which preparations are being made to take approval from the state government. There are chances of it being approved soon.

After the approval of the government, those who pass the competency test of employed teachers will be given the status of state employees. After this, they will start getting pay scale and other facilities equivalent to teachers reinstated by Bihar Public Service Commission.


The department received more than 1 lakh suggestions


It is known that the department had released the draft of Bihar School Special Teacher Rules, 2023 on 11 October. Suggestions and objections were sought on this. The department received suggestions worth more than one lakh through e-mail. After considering these suggestions, the rules have been finalized. According to sources, the Education Department has not accepted the suggestion of not conducting competency test for employed teachers. Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) will organize competency test of these teachers. Maximum three chances will be given to pass this examination. It was made clear in the draft that the services of those who do not pass the competency test will be terminated.
