Breaking News: Ban on 75 percent reservation in private jobs in Haryana
Latest Updated 18/11/2023: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday struck down a law providing 75 per cent reservation in private sector jobs to residents of Haryana state. This decision was delivered by Justice GS Sandhawalia and Justice Harpreet Kaur Jeevan.

Senior advocate Akshay Bhan, who is among the lawyers for the petitioners, said that the bench struck down the entire Act of 2020 of the Haryana government. He said it was argued that the Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2020 violates Articles 14 and 19 of the Constitution.
The rule was applicable for jobs up to Rs 30 thousand. The High Court had accepted several petitions against the implementation of the Act providing 75 percent reservation in private sector jobs to the candidates of the state. This included jobs offering a maximum gross monthly salary or allowance of up to Rs 30,000.
