Breaking News: There will be CBI investigation of Haridwar parking

Latest Updated 21/10/2023: The High Court has considered the contract extension given by the government to the contractor of Haridwar's Pantdweep parking during the Covid period as wrong. A bench headed by the Chief Justice has ordered the state government to conduct a CBI investigation into the matter.

High Court considered the decision to extend parking contract in Pantdweep wrong

A division bench of Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Rakesh Thapliyal heard the case on Friday. Seeing the case of serious irregularities in the extension given to the parking contractor, the division bench ordered the government to get the matter investigated by the CBI. Advocate Vikas Bahuguna, appearing for the defendant, said that the government had extended the contract of the parking contractor in view of the losses incurred during the Covid period, but the court has ordered a CBI inquiry into the matter. Advocate Bahuguna said that an appeal will be filed against this decision.
