According to the order, during the examination in various districts, a large number of candidates have been arrested while cheating with electronic devices and cheat sheets. At the same time, many candidates received the so-called answers to the examination questions through mobile and other means by merely writing serial numbers on plain pages. There have been cases of candidates being caught with these answers. After analysis of these cases, it was found that prima facie this activity appears to have been carried out by an organized gang in a well-planned manner. On the other hand, the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU), taking suo motu cognizance, has constituted a special team under the leadership of a senior officer at the headquarters level to investigate the entire matter. EOU Additional Director General of Police Nayyar Hasnain Khan said that the answers to the questions have come to light only one and a half to two hours before the commencement of the examination.

FIR lodged in 21 districts, 148 arrested

EOU ADG said that till now a total of 67 cases have been registered in 21 districts and 148 accused have been arrested. Maximum 12 cases have been registered in Chhapra. Important evidence has also been found from Patna and Nawada. He requested people to give any information in this regard on EOU's toll free number - 0612-2216236 or email - cybercell-bih@nic.in.
