Latest Updated 01/10/2023: 69th Combined Civil Services Examination was conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission on Saturday. There were tight security arrangements at 488 centers set up across the state. The attendance of candidates was 73. There was a provision of negative marking, due to which students did not take much risk. The result will come by December-January.


It is known that 2 lakh 70 thousand 412 applicants had applied. Ravi Bhushan which is Commission Secretary said that no malpractice was reported from any examination center. The admission of the applicants was done as per the rules.

Students told that apart from NCERT and textbooks, many questions were asked from current events. Dr. Guru Rahman said that the cutoff of unreserved category students is likely to be 90 to 95, whereas the cutoff of candidates of other categories will be slightly lower than this. Question papers from the History, Polity & Science were asked like the previous years.

According to Dr. VC Jha, Director of Sankalp, the questions related to the cycle of events were related to eight to ten months and were paper based. This time the cutoff for general category is likely to be 90. The questions were of balanced and logical nature. About 30 questions related to Indian history, art and culture and national movement, 30 questions related to Indian Polity and Constitution, 15 questions related to Geography of India and the World and 15 questions related to Environment, General Science includes Biology, Chemistry, Physics and 30 questions related to science and technology, 10 questions based on history, geography and other issues of Bihar, 25 questions from current affairs cycle, while 10 questions related to mathematics and mental reasoning test were asked. Due to there being only four options in the question paper and the provision of negative marks being one-third, candidates should avoid giving over-estimated answers. In the questions related to General Science, special emphasis was given on updated and technical things.
