Paving the way for Home Guard soldiers of Jharkhand to get equal pay as policemen latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 23/09/2023: The way has been cleared to provide salary and other facilities to the Home Guard jawans of the state at par with the policemen. The High Court on Friday rejected the government's petition against the Jharkhand High Court's order to pay equal pay to policemen. The court of Justice JK Maheshwari and Justice KV Vishwanathan rejected the government's SLP.

On January 12 this year, the division bench of the High Court had asked the state government to give the benefits of salary and other allowances to the Home Guard personnel at par with the policemen. The High Court had said that when Home Guard soldiers do similar work with policemen in police stations, then they should also get facilities like policemen. The High Court had directed the government to comply with the order within three months. The government had filed an SLP in the Supreme Court against the High Court order, calling the High Court order wrong. After the hearing, the Supreme Court rejected the state government's petition.
