Additional Chief Secretary Minority Welfare Monica S Garg released the revised rules on Wednesday.
- Notification regarding amendment in rules released
- Eligible students will get benefits
Minority Welfare, Waqf and Haj Minister Dharampal Singh said that the amendment has been made in view of the existing requirements for giving scholarship to the students of pre-10th classes in recognized educational institutions. In the new system, the budget has been determined proportionately on the basis of the curriculum. In the previous system, by giving priority and preference to new applicants, new applicants with high intelligence were not able to benefit. Merit system has been implemented with the aim of encouraging high intelligence of minority students. For scholarship and fee reimbursement, arrangements have been made to send the applicant's Aadhaar authentication online directly to his account.
He has said that with this, fake, non-existent and non-run educational institutions will no longer be able to take unfair advantage of the scheme. In order to ensure transparency and determine accountability, heads of educational institutions and nodal officers will have to verify the candidates through digital signatures.
