Latest Updated 27/09/2023: Librarians will be reinstated in engineering and polytechnic colleges of the state soon. The manual for librarian reinstatement is ready. There has to be partial modification in this. After this the process of librarian reinstatement will start. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar remains firm on his promise of providing employment to the youth.
These things were said by Science, Technical and Technical Education Minister Sumit Singh in the state level librarian conference organized by All Bihar Trend Librarian Welfare Association on Tuesday at Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan. He said that Bihar government is continuously releasing vacancies in different departments. Youth should come into politics. He also honored teachers and students associated with library science. Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University, Prof. present as a special guest in the conference. KC Sinha said that nothing is possible without knowledge.
Library plays an important role for any good institution. When the NAAC team comes to inspect, the library gets a special mark. Understanding the importance of libraries, the government should immediately fill the vacant posts of librarians in universities and colleges. The program was presided over by the state president of the association, Vikas Chandra Singh. Said that more than 10 thousand posts of librarian are vacant. Ajay Yadav, Lokesh Kumar, Vivek Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Harshit Raj, Anand Kumar, Madhav Kumar, Gaurav Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Alok Kumar etc. were present on this occasion.

No PhD in Library Science in any university of the state
Former Vice Chancellor of Patna University, Rash Bihari Singh said that it is unfortunate that no university in the state offers PhD in Library Science. Permanent teachers have not been appointed anywhere in the universities of Bihar. Whereas PhD is done in libraries in the country and the world. There is a need to think seriously about this. Nalanda University was recognized in the world because of its rich library. Bihar Police Association President Mrityunjay Singh, State Scheduled Caste Commission Vice President Lalan Bhuiyan and Hindi Sahitya Sammelan President Anil Sulabh also presented their views.
