Admission possible even for those having zero marks in Medical PG of Uttarakhand latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 21/09/2023: Now, students who score zero marks in NEET PG entrance exam will also get admission on PG seats in government and private medical colleges of Uttarakhand. Orders in this regard have been released by the National Medical Commission.
The admission process for PG seats of medical colleges is currently going on. Two phases of counseling have been done, while the third phase of counseling is to start soon. Before that the Central Government has reduced the cut off to zero. With this, the way has been cleared for the admission of students with zero marks also on these seats. Till now, the cut off for general category students in the state for admission to NEET PG seats was 291 marks. Whereas the cut off for SC, ST, OBC was fixed at 257 marks. But now it has been reduced to zero.
Half the seats are vacant
Medical Education Department officials said that there are around 200 PG clinical and non-clinical seats in the state, out of which around 100 are still vacant. Now, these seats are expected to be filled as even those with zero marks are getting exemption for admission. Sources said that NMC has been reducing the cut off for PG seats earlier also, but earlier it was reduced by 10 to 15 marks, whereas this time the cut off has been reduced to zero.
