3.5 lakh applications were received for STET Bihar latest news update 2023

Latest Updated 30/08/2023: Three and a half lakh candidates have applied for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2023. This will be the first time that Bihar Board will conduct STET of 46 subjects simultaneously. It consists of 17 subjects in Paper-I and 29 subjects in Paper-II. Talking about the year 2020, around two lakh candidates had appeared in STET 2020. The exam was taken for 10 subjects. This time the Bihar Board has included all the subjects of Secondary and Higher Secondary.


STET will be taken online. The exam will run in two shifts over a week. Center for the examination will be made only in those cities where there will be facility of online examination. All the applicants will get the information about the examination center from their admit card. The examination center will be made in the district headquarters only. The exam will be of 150 marks. All will be objective type.

Applications for STET are more in class 9th and 10th. Maximum applications have come for class 9th and 10th. More than two lakh applications have come for ninth and tenth i.e. paper-one. Last entry will be allowed at the examination center only one hour before the commencement of the examination. Every center will be monitored through CCTV and videography.

Candidates appearing in Paper-A Special School Teacher must select any one subject for the General Subject Group. The subjects may be Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Maithili, Sanskrit, Arabic, Persian, Bhojpuri, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Physical Education, Music, Fine Arts and Dance. Out of all these subjects, one subject will be selected, the candidates who have not done this are being given a chance to improve from 29th to 31st August.
