Latest Updated 09/07/2023: Jharkhand State Council of Physiotherapy (JSCPT) has declared Physiotherapy degree under distance education as invalid in the state. Council President Dr. Rajeev Ranjan said that this decision was taken in the Governing Body meeting on Saturday.


Dr. Rajeev Ranjan said that like other states, registration of such degree holders will not be done in Jharkhand as well. Information in this regard will be given to the candidates applying for registration in the Council. He will be told that he cannot work as a physiotherapist in the state. If such people are caught working as a physiotherapists then the legal action will be taken against them. Council's Vice President Dr. Abhay Kumar Pandey, Registrar Dr. Ajit Kumar, besides Director Medical Education Dr. SK Singh, Dr. Rahul Kumar, Dr. Meraj, Dr. Devendra Kumar Munda, Pramod Kumar, Usha Singh and special invitees Saheb Ali were present in the meeting.

Masters degree will be registered as additional qualification It was decided in the meeting that those who have passed three and a half year diploma course in Physiotherapy course till 2004, they will be compulsorily registered in the Council. Further decision will be taken only after confirmation of permission and other orders from the state government and the concerned institute regarding the diploma holder passed in the session after 2004.


It was also clear that specialty of Physiotherapists having a Masters degree in many disciplines of Physiotherapy by UGC recognized Universities will also be registered as the additional qualification.
