40000 cooks will be recruited in the schools of Bihar latest news update 2023

Latest Updated 05/07/2023: There is a shortage of cooks to prepare mid-day meals in state schools. Soon this shortcoming will be removed. 40 thousand cooks will be reinstated by the Directorate of Bihar Mid Day Meal Scheme. At present this number is estimated. Vacancies have also been sought from all District Mid Day Meal Scheme Officers. Its report has to be given by 7 July.

Let us tell you that there is a shortage of cooks in schools for mid-day meals. After the year 2016, the cook has not been kept in the schools. At present, 30 to 35% of the schools in Bihar do not have cooks as per the rules. This causes the problems.

According to the vacancies, the restoration will be done on the post of cook, only the woman of the village or panchayat has to be restored. This responsibility rests with the School Education Committee. After the vacancies come, the School Education Committee will restore on the orders of all the District Education Offices. Let us inform that at present two lakh two thousand cooks are working in the state. Each cook gets an honorarium of 1650 rupees per month.

An amount of four lakh is given on death

According to the Directorate of Mid-Day Meal Scheme, if a cook dies while working, the state govt gives 4 lakh rupees to them. Bihar is the only state in the country to do so. So far, this amount has been given to 3076 cooks.

Note - In schools where the total enrollment is more than five hundred, an additional cook-cum-assistant will be appointed on additional three hundred enrollments.
