Latest Updated 07/06/2023: Retired IPS officer Dinesh Sharma (73) committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed revolver in Gomtinagar on Tuesday morning.
On hearing the fire, the family members rushed to the room in disbelief and the blood-soaked body of Dinesh Kumar was lying on the chair. Blood was spread on the floor, while the licensed revolver was lying there. A suicide note written in English was also found from the room, in which he has written about committing suicide due to illness. It is also written that no one else is responsible for his step.

The incident took place at around 7.15 am. Relatives and old officers also reached after getting the news. Many officers including former DGP Sulkhan Singh, Javid Ahmed, ADG Security Vinod Singh, who were family friends, tied up.
