Latest Updated 05/06/2023: Noted actress Sulochana Latkar passed away on Sunday in a hospital after a prolonged illness. His grandson Parag Ajgaonkar confirmed this. She was 94 years old. The actress will be cremated with state honors by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. PM Narendra Modi paid tribute to this famous actress.


Sulochana Latkar, a well-known film actress in Marathi & Hindi cinema, started her career in the 1940's & acted in more than 250 films.

Parag said, due to prolonged illness, he died in the hospital at around 6.30 pm on Sunday. He was admitted to Sushrusha Hospital in Dadar on 8 May. He had a respiratory tract infection. Film Actress Sulochana Latkar was awarded by the Padma Shri in 1999. He is survived from his daughter Kanchan Ghanekar. The last rites of the late actress will be performed with state honors at Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar on Monday at 5 pm.
