Breaking News: Bihar's 4th Airport to be built in Purnia

Latest Updated 11/06/2023: The way has been cleared to connect Seemanchal with the country's air network. For this, the state's fourth airport will be constructed in Purnia. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and the Government of Bihar to start civil aviation services in Purnia. After Patna, Gaya, Darbhanga, now passengers from Purnia will also be able to go to other cities by air. The Airport Authority of India has given this information by tweeting. Under the UDAN scheme, Purnia airport is also to be developed on the lines of Darbhanga airport.

2000 crore will be spent on construction of new airport in Purnia and development of Darbhanga airport


Here too, there is already an air force station and a superb runway facility. With the construction of civil enclave, re-carpeting will be done as per the requirement of the runway. On the other hand, an agreement has been signed between the Bihar government and AAI for civil enclave in Darbhanga. Many things have been agreed upon in the presence of senior officers of AAI and Bihar including AAI Executive Director Charul Pandey. Arrangements will be made for smooth landing of aircraft even in low visibility at Darbhanga airport.

With the construction of the new airport, the people of Seemanchal and its surrounding areas will be able to get trade and traffic and other facilities. With the increase in commercial activities in the area, new employment opportunities will be created.
