Honorarium increased for SR, JR & Interns of five medical colleges of Jharkhand Dhanbad along with SNMMCH latest news update 2023

Latest Updated 16/05/2023: The Jharkhand government has increased the honorarium of senior residents (SR), tutors, junior residents (JR) and interns in medical colleges. The state government has issued its notification. Along with SNMMCH Dhanbad, SR, JR and interns of Jamshedpur, Palamu, Hazaribagh and Dumka Medical Colleges will also be benefitted. SNMMCH has 44 SRs, 72 JRs and around 70 Interns.


Right now all of them were getting paid according to the honorarium fixed in the year 2020. In view of inflation, the Department of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare has made it effective by increasing their honorarium. SR and Tutor used to get an honorarium of Rs 75 thousand every month till now. Now they will get 80 thousand rupees in the first year of senior residency, 82 thousand 500 rupees in the second year and 85 thousand rupees in the third year. JR (Non Academic) used to get 41 thousand rupees every month. Now they will get 54 thousand 500 rupees.

JR (Academic) of MGM Jamshedpur will get Rs 54,500 instead of Rs 41,000 in the first year, Rs 58,500 instead of Rs 42,000 in the second year and Rs 63,000 instead of Rs 43,000 in the third year. Here JR MBBS (Non Academic) will get only 54 thousand 500 rupees every month like other medical colleges. Since PG education is done only in Jamshedpur apart from RIMS, hence only JR (Academic) is there. Interns of medical colleges will now get Rs 17,500 instead of Rs 15,000 per month.
