Terrorists explode during military operation in Audasha forest, Major injured

Latest Updated 06/05/2023: At the same time when the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting was going on in Goa, at the same time the terrorists blasted in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. In this, five military personnel were martyred and an officer of Major rank was injured. Terrorists are being searched. Mobile internet facilities have been suspended in the area. The responsibility of the attack has been taken by the People's Anti-Fascist Front, an organization of Jaish-e-Mohammed.


Three succumbed to their injuries in hospital As per the developments, two army men belonging to Special Forces were martyred in the morning and four army personnel including Major were injured. Three army personnel later died in a hospital in Udhampur.

A statement issued by the army's Northern Command said that its troops are conducting an operation to trace the group of terrorists who ambushed an army truck in Tota Gali area of Bhata Dhuria in Jammu region last month. 5 soldiers were martyred during this attack.

The joint operation was launched on 3 May based on information about the presence of terrorists in Kandi forest area of Rajouri sector, the statement said. At around 7 am on Friday, the search team surrounded a group of terrorists hiding in a cave. During this, the terrorists exploded in which two soldiers were martyred while four others were injured. He was taken to Command Hospital. Three soldiers died here. The army officer said, this area with steep cliffs has dense forest. The team of Additional from nearby areas have been sent to the encounter site.


These martyred soldiers include Lance Naik Ruchin Singh Rawat, a Gairsain resident of Uttarakhand, Naik Arvind Kumar of Himachal Pradesh, Paratrooper Pramod Negi, Havaldar Neelam Singh of Jammu and Kashmir and Paratrooper Siddhant Chhetri of West Bengal.


According to sources, the presence of four to six terrorists was reported in the dense forests of Thannamandi and Darhal tehsils of Rajouri district. Six terrorists are suspected to be hiding in Pangai, Appar Pangai of Thannamandi tehsil and Khodinar, Budh Khanari forest areas of Darhal district.


Northern Command Commander visits military base

Army Commander of Northern whic is Lt. General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Army's Remote Operating Bases i.e.; ROBs in Rajouri & Kishtwar districts. During this, he took stock of the security situation in the area and the operational preparedness of the Army. This was his second visit to Rajouri to review military preparedness after the April 20 terror attack at Bhatta Dhurian in Poonch.

Three associates of terrorists have been arrested in Pulwama and Shopian districts. A large amount of arms & ammunition has been recovered from them. Weapons were recovered from a person named Asghar Dar during checking at naka at Nagisharan in Shopian on Friday, police said. At the same time, during the search in Pulwama on Thursday, an AK-47 rifle, six guns, magazines and 24 bullets were found from the house of a person named Bashir Ahmed and Gulzar Ahmed.
