Screws on officers too in UP Scholarship Scam latest news update 2023
Latest Updated 30/04/2023: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also come to know about the involvement of government officials in the interrogation of the three accused arrested in the scholarship scam. In such a situation, soon there is a possibility of ED tightening its noose on the responsible officers of the Department of Social Welfare, Minority Welfare and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

The five-day custodial remand period of the three accused Izhar Hussain Jafri, Ali Abbas Jafri and Ravi Prakash Gupta is ending on Monday. For this reason, the ED will present all three in the court of Special Judge CBI in Lucknow on Monday. According to sources, the ED may request the court to further extend the remand period of the three. Among the accused, Izhar Hussain Jafri and Ali Abbas Jafri are office bearers of Haijia Group of Colleges, Lucknow, while Ravi Prakash Gupta is an employee of Fino Payments Bank.

Investigation revealed that Hyjia Group is the master mind of this scam. Through this group, other institutes contacted the agents of Fino Payment Bank and 3000 fake bank accounts were opened and scholarships were withdrawn. In this case, information about a scam of about 200 crores is being received. Now information is being collected about the then officers of the concerned departments.
