Pay scale fixed for teachers recruited from BPSC latest news update 2023

Decision: 1.78 lakh teachers will be appointed from 1st to 12th

Latest Updated 29/04/2023: The salary of teachers recruited from BPSC has been fixed. The state govt is going to recruit 1.78 lakh 26 teachers from class 1st to 12th. In the high-level meeting of the Administrative Posts Committee, the basic pay scale of teachers in 4 categories has been approved. The initial basic salary of these new teachers to be recruited as state employees has been fixed from 25 thousand to 32 thousand. In the meeting, Chief Secretary (CS) Aamir Subhani, Development Commissioner Vivek Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department Dr. S. Siddhartha, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Education Department, Deepak Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of General Administration Department, Dr.B. Rajender & the Finance Department Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh.


With the new salary fixation, the state govt will have to bear a burden of Rs 106 billion 23 crore 45 lakh 31 thousand 920 annually. In this, 46 billion 29 crore 23 lakh 7 thousand 120 rupees will be spent annually on the pay scale of teachers from class 1 to 8, while 59 billion 94 crore 22 lakh 24 thousand 800 rupees will be spent on teachers from class 9 to 12th. In the light of the Bihar State School Teacher (Recruitment, Transfer, Disciplinary Action & Service Conditions) Rules 2023, 85477 posts of basic category teachers have been created for teaching classes 1 to 5 & 1745 vacancies have been created for teaching classes 6 to 8. At the same time, 57618 vacancies of school teachers have been created under the control of the Education Department for teaching up to classes 11-12 & 33186 vacancies have been created for teaching classes 9-10.

Salary will be calculated like this


Teachers will achieve DA, housing allowance & medical allowance separately on basic salaray. DA 42% while housing allowance is 4 to 16% for different category of posts. Medical allowance is 1000 rupees. By adding all these things, 1800 rupees will be deducted in the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF). After this, the remaining amount will be provide to them as salary every month.
