Latest Updated 19/04/2023: A high-level meeting was held in the Education Department on Tuesday regarding the appointment of new teachers in the state. Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar Singh has asked all regional education directors, district education officers and district program officers to provide information about appointments by April 20 under any circumstances. The counting of vacancies will be on the basis of April 10. It is believed that the existing vacancies may increase by up to 10,000. However, after the notification of vacancies, it will also be investigated.
It is noteworthy that at present there is a plan to appoint 2 lakh teachers. These include the posts of 80 thousand elementary teachers and 1.20 lakh secondary and higher secondary teachers. Along with this, one lakh posts of computer teachers, physical teachers and non-teaching staff are also to be appointed. The proposal for salary fixation for the appointment of new teachers has been sent to the Finance Department. There will also be a discussion with the General Administration Department regarding their service conditions.

The salary of new teachers can be higher by 10 to 15 percent than the existing employed teachers. However, the proposal is currently under consideration with the Finance Department. The process of finalizing the proposal will start only after getting consent from there. The Additional Chief Secretary has asked for roster clearance from the level of Regional Deputy Director of Education for the remaining vacant posts related to the appointment of Principal in high schools. The status of book distribution was reviewed in the meeting. There was also a brainstorm regarding the selection of one model school in each district.
