Latest Updated 16/03/2023: There will be one calendar for all the schools in Jharkhand. In all the schools of the state, only one subject will be taught in any class at a time. The School Education and Literacy Department has prepared the calendar and issued its notification. This calendar will be applicable from the new academic session 2023-24. Education Secretary K. Ravi Kumar has given instructions to all DEO-DSE.
The ideal routine has been fixed in the calendar prepared by the Education Department. The time period for school opening, prayer meeting, every bell has also been fixed. There will be seven bells every day from 1st to 10th. The first two bells will be of 45-45 minutes, while the next four bells will be of 40-40 minutes and the seventh bell will be of 35 minutes. There will also be a short break of five minutes each and tiffin of half an hour twice during the school period. The information about which subjects are to be taught class-wise in Ghar Ghanti has also been given in the released calendar. It has been clarified in the calendar that 15 minutes before the school period, the long bell will be rung by the school management.
In the prayer meeting of 15 minutes, prayer song, preamble of the constitution, today's thought, important day, main news, quiz and national anthem will be sung. Children will also thank god for a good day after the completion of the school term.
Teacher will prepare lesson plan
Government school teachers will prepare lesson plans for their respective subjects for each class. Before the class, the teachers will prepare their lesson plan and get it countersigned by the headmaster or the headmaster in-charge, only then they will go to the class.
School children will also play Kancha and Goti
Children of government schools will also eat Kancha and Goti. Education Department has directed to organize these games to promote traditional regional games in schools. This includes Gulail, Kancha, Kitkit, Sekor, Sattu, Goti and other traditional games. A school shall ensure to conduct sports popular in that area under one sports mode. In this, hockey will be organized in Gumla-Simdega district. Also, it has to be kept in mind that the sports selected by the schools should be included in the list of sports for Olympic-Commonwealth or Asian competitions. Indoor and outdoor sports activities will take place after the school term. Morning school will be from one o'clock to two o'clock and day school will be from three o'clock to four o'clock.
Rules for single and two teacher schools
The Education Department has fixed the rules for single teacher and two teacher schools. Hindi, Mathematics and English should be taught before the mid-day meal in schools with a single teacher. On the other hand, in schools with two teachers, they should divide the class among themselves and operate on the same half. One teacher should teach from first to second and one from third to fifth.
Time limit for the operation of schools
The education department has also fixed the time limit for the schools. From April 1 to June 30, schools will function from 7 am to 1 pm. Whereas, from July 1 to March 31, classes will run from 9 am to 3 pm. There will be two bells every day for English, Hindi and Mathematics subjects in first to third class. Classes of Mathematics, EBS and Language subjects will be conducted every day before tiffin in class IV-V.
