Latest Updated 27/03/2023: The Jharkhand government has stopped grants to 275 unfunded educational institutions in the state. Out of 502 institutions applied for, the Department of School Education and Literacy has released grant amount for 227 institutions. The grant amount has been sent to all the districts. Fundless Education Sangharsh Morcha has protested against the grant cut by the institutions and has announced agitation.


It has been said on behalf of the front that the institute will return the grant amount. It has also said that till all the institutions are not given the grant, the application for the grant for 2023-24 will not be made. Tell that for the financial year 2022-23, 276 establishment permission and approved secondary schools had applied online. Out of this, grant has been released for only 96 schools. 180 schools have been denied grants.

43.20 crore rupees released for institutions out of 90 crore sanctioned amount


Similarly, 161 approved inter colleges had applied, out of which grants have been given to 97 inter colleges. Apart from this, 36 madrassas applied online, out of which 15 were given grants. Apart from this, grants have been issued to 21 out of 29 Sanskrit schools that applied. An amount of 90 crores was approved for the institutions in the financial year 2022-23, in which only 43 crores or 20 lakhs have been distributed.

Irregularities in grant distribution

Financeless Education Sanyukta Sangharsh Morcha has accused the Department of School Education and Literacy of huge irregularities in grant distribution. The Morcha held a meeting regarding this and prepared a strategy for the movement. Raghunath Singh of the Morcha said that this time there will be an all-out struggle for the grant. If the grant is not given then online application will not be done in future. He has demanded grant distribution before December. Morcha's Surendra Jha said that 60 to 70 percent grants of school-colleges have been cut on the pretext of utility certificate and mortgage deed and class room, while the school-colleges have submitted both the papers.
