Latest Updated 25/03/2023: The process of restoration in the police department is going to start from June. On the basis of the preparations made so far, preparations are on to issue advertisements related to the reinstatement of 26,000 police personnel, including about 2,000 driver constables, 2,000 constables and 22,000 constables, in June.


The police headquarters has asked all the districts to prepare a list of vacant posts of constables, inspectors and all other personnel on the basis of roster. Some districts have also sent it. It is likely to be received from all the districts by the end of this month. After this, the list of all vacant posts at the level of Police Headquarters and Home Department will be prepared by dividing them on the basis of general, women's reservation and all other reservation categories. After this, on the basis of this list, a letter will be sent to the concerned selection board to start the process of reinstatement. The advertisement is likely to be published 10 days after the Constable and Inspector Selection Board receives the requisition related to the reinstatement.

This restoration of 26,000 police personnel, including constables and constables, is to be done mainly under the Emergency Response System (Dial-112). Currently, these posts are not being filled pending the ban on promotion in the state and waiting for the final decision on this from the Supreme Court.


Due to the large number of vacant posts, the police department is facing problems at many levels.
