Latest Updated 12/03/2023: The Chhattisgarh High Court has termed 100 per cent reservation for women on the post of assistant professor, demonstrator in nursing colleges as unconstitutional. Also canceled the related condition of the advertisement issued in this regard.
Advocates, Ghanshyam Kashyap and Nelson Panna said that on December 8, 2021, the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission had issued an advertisement for the recruitment of 91 vacant posts of Assistant Professor and Demonstrator in Government Nursing Colleges. In its condition five, only women candidates were considered eligible. On 9 March 2023, the bench of the Chief Justice and the judge pronounced the verdict on the petition.
Petitioner could not fill the form
During the hearing of the petition, it was stated that the petitioners possess the requisite educational qualification as prescribed in the advertisement for the post of Demonstrator Nursing and Assistant Professor Nursing, but they are not eligible due to rule of Schedule III of the Chhattisgarh Medical Education (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules, 2013. Can fill The petitioners had completed their undergraduate and postgraduate nursing examination and also have clinical experience of three years. Also she is registered with Chhattisgarh State Nursing Council.
