Latest Updated 26/02/2023: The Examination Department of BBMKU Dhanbad has released the Academic Promotion Criteria related to promotion in various semesters of UG. University Examination Controller Dr. Suman Kumar Varnwal said that most of the students do not get this information from the college. Every day students come to the university to know the promotion criteria. This is not correct. For this reason the university has issued it. All colleges should issue it on the college notice board. This will help the students.
Important information
● No student is held back in Semester 1, 3 and 5.
● To pass in the internal examination, it is necessary to score 40% marks.
● A minimum of 4 CGPA (semester 1 and 2 combined) is necessary for promotion from semester two to three.
Semester four results of degree colleges have been released. For promotion in Semester 4 to 5, Honors students are required to pass 12 papers out of total 18 papers (till now including Sem. 1, 2, 3 and 4). General/Pass course students should have passed 10 out of 16 papers. On the other hand, for promotion in semester six, students must pass all the subjects or papers till semester three. The controller told that if a student finds backlog in any paper of semester four or five and passes in semester six, the student concerned will be declared NCL (Not Cleared Lower Semester).
