Latest Updated On 12/12/2022: The vacant posts of principals in government high schools of Jharkhand will be filled by promotion. Presently, only 37 out of 1663 high schools in Jharkhand have permanent headmasters the remaining 1626 high schools are run by in-charge headmasters. For this, Director of Secondary Education Sunil Kumar has summoned reports to all district education officers.
The education department has asked for reports of graduate trained teachers of high schools. Graduate trained teachers of high schools, whose qualification is post graduate (pg) trained teacher, have been asked to provide their service book, status of work for the last 5 years & a complete report on their activities. Apart from this, information about the status of allegations against teachers, from monitoring to verified educational & training certificates will also have to be given. After this, the process of promotion of headmasters will be began. Since the fabrication of Jharkhand state, teachers of high schools have not got the benefit of promotion. No one has been promoted since 1995. Teachers who have given 12 years of their service after 1995, they have also not got the benefit of preferential pay scale and teachers who have given 24 years of service have not got the benefit of selection salary.

Only 37 out of 1663 high schools have permanent headmasters
Hundreds of teachers have retired without promotion. Many of these have also passed away.
The posts of headmasters will be created, the minister called a meeting
Vacancies of headmasters will be created in middle schools of Jharkhand. Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato has called a meeting of departmental officers regarding this on Monday. There are about 14,000 middle schools in the state, out of which posts of headmasters have been created in only 3,400 middle schools, while permanent headmasters are employed in less than a hundred schools. Schools have been upgraded from primary schools to middle schools but since the fabrication of the state, the vacancies of headmasters have not been created till date. Recently, 3 posts of teachers have definitely been created in the schools. The Education Minister will also review the problems related to the recognition of schools & assistant teachers (para teachers) in the meeting. In this, salary discrepancy of mercury teachers, compassionate job, assessment test, welfare fund, employee provident fund will also be reviewed.
Salary of govt school teachers will not stop
The salary of the teachers of government schools of the state will not be stopped without proper reason. If this happens then action will be taken against the concerned officials. The Department of School Education & Literacy has called for reports from all the districts regarding stoppage of salaries of teachers. Districts will have to provide a report that how many teachers' salary is stopped in their district. In this, detailed information has to be given about the name of the teacher, the name of the school, since when the salary has been stopped, for what reason it is stopped and from which officer's level the salary has been stopped. The teachers are going to the court due to stoppage of salaries without any reason. The senior officials of the department have to appear in the court.
