Chief Minister and Health Minister distributed appointment letters to 604 CHOs, employment generation program held in Chief Servant Sadan

Latest Updated On 24/12/2022: The state government is going to provide 10,000 jobs in the health sector within the next three months. Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami and Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said this while handing over appointment letters to Community Health Officers (CHOs) appointed in various districts.


CM Dhami congratulated the CHO on receiving the appointment letter in the Uttarakhand Health Employment Generation Program at Chief Sevak Sadan on Friday. He said that the role of health and wellness centers is important for the better health of the general public. These centers work to deliver health services at the village level. Wellness centers played an important role even during the Corona pandemic.


He said that many such programs are being conducted under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The objective of these programs is to provide health services to remote areas. The Prime Minister has resolved to give employment to 10 lakh youth every year. This program is a part of that resolution. At present around 1790 health and wellness centers are functioning in Uttarakhand and now the state has got 604 new CHOs. Dhami said that today India is the 5th largest economy in the world. All the departments of the Central and State Governments have shown greater readiness towards public works. The 'Startup India' campaign has established the potential of the country's youth in front of the whole world.

Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that recruitment drive will be expedited in the department. Said that there are about 1800 health and wellness centers in the state, in which 1200 are CHOs, whereas today 604 CHOs have been given new postings. All CHOs will conduct medical examination of local people in wellness centers and will also make people aware of health by visiting villages.


During this, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor of HNB Medical Education University Prof. Hemchandra along with district officers joined virtually.

Free investigation of seven lakh people


CM Dhami said that this year around 19 lakh people came to health and wellness centers for check-up. Of these, seven lakh people were tested free of cost. At the same time, health counseling was given to five lakh people through tele-consultation facility. The state government's 'Jan Arogya Abhiyan - One step towards a healthy life' was also conducted. The Central Government has also praised it. He said that the state would be made TB free by 2024.
