Latest Updated On 09/12/2022: The Hasanganj police on Thursday arrested two students accused of murderous attack by stabbing and stabbing student Abhiraj Singh during a birthday party at Lucknow University. Other students involved in the ruckus have been identified. The search is on.


The case was filed by Ashmit Patel, a second-year BA student, who was celebrating his friend's birthday at the university's Kishori canteen on Wednesday. Meanwhile, BA third year students Shantanuraj Singh, Rishabh Verma and Harish Verma had beaten up Abhiraj along with their colleagues when there was a dispute. He was chased and beaten in front of everyone. Abhiraj was injured by stabbing him with a knife and a swab. In this case, two teams of Hasanganj police raided. Only after this, the police arrested Saraiya Mishra, a resident of Tiwariganj of Chinhat and Shantanu Raj Singh, a resident of Aliganj, who were involved in the incident. Saraiya is originally from Basti and Shantanu is from Varanasi. Wherein police, including student Rishabh Verma, kept a close watch on Habibullah Hostel on Thursday as well.

Fight in college sports competition

Two groups of students clashed during a sports competition in a college located in Hazratganj on Thursday. Kick-punches went on between the two. Many students got injured. One student received serious injuries. Police reached there as soon as the incident was reported. The school administration also called the parents of the students. A settlement was reached between both the parties and the students apologized saying that there would be no further quarrel.


The school administration had also seen the video footage. Only after this the parents of the accused students were called. Inspector Hazratganj said that no FIR was registered in this matter.


Checking campaign in the entire campus

In view of Wednesday's incident in Lucknow University, a checking operation was carried out in the entire campus. Teams of the university administration visited the entire campus and checked the identity card of every student. Anyone who did not have an identity card was thrown out of the premises.


Student Abhiraj was injured in a brawl in the party on 7 December.
