UPMSP UP Board: Vocational education compulsory in 150 schools latest news update 2022
Latest Updated On 05/09/2022: Vocational education will now be provide in class 9-10 7 class 11-12 of UP board. It will be compulsory for the student to study one trade. In the 1st phase, courses will be run in 150 schools of the state. In this consideration, the Secondary Education Department is going to sign an MoU with the Vocational Education Department.
Two govt schools each in each district of the state have been selected. 16 courses in 8 sectors of vocational education have been selected. The time duration of all these is different. Most of the courses are of 12 to 15 months time duration. A certificate will be provide to the student. There will be no examination for this & it has no linkage with the subjects of the UP Board as of now.

These are the sectors & trades of vocational education
- Garment Manufacturing - Sewing Machine Operator, Tailoring
- Agriculture - growing vegetable crops, gardening
- Automotive - 4 Wheeler Service Assistant, 4 Wheeler Service Technician
- Beauty and Wellness- Assistant Beauty Therapist, Beauty Therapist
- Energy- Cable Jointer Electrical Power System, Energy Meter Technician
- IT-ITES- Domestic Data Entry Operator, Jr. Software Developer
- Physical Education- Fitness Trainer, Physical Education Assistant
- Retail - Retail Store Operations Assistant, Sales Associate
IT related trades will now be run in each school. Simultaneously, not all schools will have all trades but only one or two sector trades. Students of class 9 & class 11 will be enrolled in this. In the new education policy, there is talk of making vocational education a mandatory part of school education.
