Latest Updated On 17/09/2022: The STF has arrested an accused in the Village Development Officer (VDO) examination scam.
SSP STF Ajay Singh said that on Friday, accused Mukesh Kumar Sharma resident of Mohalla Vasant Vihar, Girital, Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar has been arrested. He is a teacher in Govt Primary School located at Chulsia, Dhumakot, Pauri Garhwal. It is alleged that he gathered many candidates and introduced them to touts. Through other brokers, the OMR sheets were tampered with and passed them.

This exam was held in 2016. When rigging was detected, it was investigated at the government level. After the fraud/cheating was confirmed, it was sent to the Vigilance. Vigilance filed the suit in January 2020. On the instructions of Chief Minister Dhami, it was agreed to get the investigation done by the STF. The case was handed over to the STF recently. The test report of the OMR sheet was also called from the forensic lab. It was finalized that the OMR sheet has been tampered with.

STF has achieve important information from Mukesh. It is being told that Mukesh has also provide the names of those who had OMR sheets. So many people are on the radar of STF in this case. There are also four touts among them who can be arrested shortly.
