JPSC 2022: Petition challenging the recruitment of Assistant Engineer dismissed latest news update
Latest Updated On 20/08/2022: The petition challenging the appointment of Assistant Engineer was dismissed by the Division Bench of the High Court after hearing. Dismissing the petition, the court of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad upheld the order of the single bench. The order of the single bench was challenged in the division bench by Ravi Shankar Singh and others.
During the hearing, the applicants told the court that JPSC had issued advertisement for the appointment of Assistant Engineer. The applicants also applied. They were also selected but they have not been called for interview. According to the Recruitment Rules 2012, it is mandatory to call at least two and a half times the selected candidates for the interview, but JPSC has called only 1.8 times the candidates for the interview. Doing so is a violation of the terms and conditions of the advertisement.

APP posts are vacant in all districts of the state
During the hearing of a case, the High Court came to know that the posts of APP are vacant in all the districts of the state. The post of Director of Prosecution is also vacant in the state and the appointment has not been made yet. During the hearing, the court was told on behalf of JPSC that the appointment process was started from 2018. Before releasing the result of the successful appointment of 143 APP in the main examination, the government canceled the advertisement itself and sought the appointment offer from JPSC itself.
The candidates had filed an appeal in the division bench against the order of the single bench.
What did the single bench say
The single bench had said in its order that JPSC has called the candidates as per the rules. There is no error in this. Therefore, the court will not oppose in this matter. A petition was filed in the Division Bench against this order.
