Subordinate Services Selection Commission had started the recruitment process for 316 posts of Forest Inspector in December 2019. One and a half lakh youth had applied for this. For this, the commission had conducted online examination in 18 shifts from July 16 to 25 last year.

During the preparation of merit, there was doubt about the number of some applicants going up to 92, then the commission got it investigated at several levels. In which, after the allegations were proved, the commission released the result of the remaining examination in January, putting them out of the examination. After this, President S Raju issued orders to hand over the matter to the Cyber ​​Police for investigation, just before resigning from the post on August 6.


On suspicion of open secret with mouse click, the commission sought details of mouse clicks of suspected applicants from online examination conducting company NSEAT. In which it was found that two applicants had solved the two-hour paper in the initial 30 minutes itself. While the mouse of the remaining seven did not even move in the first one hour, after that in 20 to 25 minutes they solved all the hundred questions. It has been proved in the company's report that the accused hacked the computer and handed over the control of the system to outside experts, who solved it outside.


When the topper was contacted, the commission's chairman S Raju, while confirming the case, said that one of the accused was topping the examination.


The remaining eight were also in the top fifty. But due to timely investigation, it was decided to exclude them from the examination.


According to STF sources, two examination centers (computer centers) of Haridwar are suspected in this case. All the nine accused had given the exam here. This is the first case of hi-tech cheating in the online examination.
