Latest Updated On 24/08/2022: There will be bumper restoration in the Rural Works Department (RWD). The department has decided to make restoration on 10 thousand 147 different vacancies. In this, about 6 thousand posts are permanent and 4 thousand posts will be filled by contract. The proposal for restoration is being made by the department which will be sent to the cabinet shortly.

1/3 of the posts in the department are vacant in comparison to the sanctioned posts. Under this, appointments are to be made on 3854 vacancies. Simultaneously, new posts have been created due to excess work in the department. Till last month 2267 vacancies have been created. Its recommendation has been received from the post category committee. Some of the vacancies are to be filled on contract basis. For this 4026 vacancies have been identified. In this way, a total of 10 thousand 147 vacancies are to be restored. In future, the no. of recruitment on contractual vacancies may increase further. Barring the engineers, such a large amount of recruitment are taking place in the department after a decade.

The departmental process of recruitment on these vacancies has been started in the department. In the coming days, the proposal of reinstatement from the department will be sent to the state cabinet. After this, the restoration of contractual vacancies will be done through Beltron or agency. Whereas the reinstatement on permanent vacancies will be done through the concerned Board/Commission. For this, a request will be sent to the Board / Commission on behalf of the department.
Most engineers will be appointed on the posts
Most of the posts to be recruited are the posts of engineers. There are posts of Junior Engineer & Assistant Engineer. Apart from this, there are vacancies of Surveyor, Clerk, Helper, Peon, Head Clerk, Chowkidar, Office Attendant etc. While the contractual vacancies include the posts of Operator, IT Boy, Quality Lab Assistant, Quality Lab Khalasi, Mate, Road Coolie. The department is expected to spend more than 300 crores annually for the restoration of these vacancies. The recruited personnel will be posted in the work division, non-working division, circle, offices of the chief engineer besides the headquarters.
