Latest Updated On 31/07/2022: STF has detained a suspected youth from Ramnagar in VPDO recruitment scam. The name of this young man came to the fore after interrogation of a policeman posted in Kashipur. It is being told that more than Rs 35 lakh in cash and some documents related to the scam have also been found from the youth.
In the recruitment scam, the STF team had detained a policeman on gunner duty of a police officer in Kashipur late on Friday night. The kin of this policeman has been selected for the post of VPDO. After the information received from the policeman during interrogation, the STF team reached Ramnagar and Kaladhungi in the early hours to raid. Later, the team took a youth into custody from Ramnagar. It is being told that this youth resident of Kashipur was also involved in the scam. The team also recovered cash, mobile, tablet and computer worth more than Rs 35 lakh from him.

The STF took the gunner and the youth into custody and left for Dehradun for questioning. It was told that this police personnel on gunner duty posted in Kashipur to get his family recruited came in contact with the scam gang. When the deal was finalized, the middleman came to Kashipur to meet the gunner.
The recruitment examination scam is being investigated by the STF in the district. A policeman has been taken into custody on suspicion. After interrogation, the policeman was handed over to the STF.
A team has been deployed in Udham Singh Nagar to investigate the recruitment scam. Another youth, including a policeman from the district, has been taken into custody for questioning.
