Latest Updated On 11/06/2022: Under the National Policy on Education (NEP), the state has decided to implement the marking pattern of CBSE in the Uttarakhand Board. From now on, the internal assessment system will be implemented in Uttarakhand Board without practical subjects.
According to sources, at present, the practical subjects in Intermediate are 70 marks theory and 30 marks practical in chemistry, physics, biology, geology etc. In practical thirty marks, now 15 marks will be in the hands of the external evaluator and 15 marks in the hands of the internal assessor teacher. All subjects without practical will carry 20 marks for internal assessment.

According to sources, a major change has also been made in the marking pattern of high school.
Till now 33 percent marks in theory and practical were required to pass in subjects like maths, science, social science etc. Whereas in some subjects including home science, it was mandatory to get 33-33 percent marks separately in theory and practical. From now on the marks of both will be added to this also. The system of internal assessment has also been implemented in high school.
