 3300000 rural women will be linked to self-employment in UP

The state government will connect more than 33 lakh women of rural areas with self-employment in this financial year. For this Rs 1500 crore will be given in the account of 3.30 lakh groups. There is also a preparation to form 1300 new producer groups to connect the active groups with livelihood activities in rural areas.

According to government sources, the target of 2022-23 has been fixed under the Rural Livelihood Mission. This year, 3.30 SHGs will be given Rs 1500 crore under Revolving Fund and Social Investment Fund (CIF). With this amount, the rural didi attached to the groups will be connected with employment. The number of females per group varies from 10 to 14. More than 33 lakh women will benefit from the amount given in this regard. In the year 2022-23, the target is to provide revolving fund to 2.20 lakh groups and community fund to 1.19 lakh groups.

2.86 lakh new clusters will also be formed this year 

UP State Rural Livelihood Mission Director Bhanuchandra Goswami said on Friday that work has been started by setting a target of formation of two lakh 868 new self-help groups in this financial year. The formation of these new groups will directly connect more than 21 lakh women. The work of connecting women joining the groups with self-employment will be done on a war footing. He said that a proposal has been sent to the Government of India for the budget while preparing a detailed action plan for the formation of new groups and other activities.


One lakh 43 thousand 470 self-help groups were formed in the rural areas of the state in the financial year 2021-22 which ended on 31 March. The government had set a target of forming two lakh eight thousand new groups this year.


Equipment will be given to promote agriculture

Departmental sources tell that this year, the Aajeevika Mission has set a target of providing equipment to 600 village organizations to promote agriculture. Financial transactions of Rs 2400 crore will be done by the didis of the groups working as Banking Sakhi.
